Being spontaneous
Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to be SPONTANEOUS! That words means… doing things unplanned, on a whim, oftentimes just for fun! I think it’s important to engage in spontaneous shenanigans as much as you can. It makes life FUN! There’s a lot to explore. Life is too short to not just go for it sometimes.
Something I’ve tried to live out in the past year or so, since I’m getting older, is this:
Saying YES to new experiences.
Should you say yes to everything all the time? No! Why, you’d be a dead man!
But new experiences? New can be scary. A lot humans, such as myself, really like patterns. Sometimes breaking a pattern can be intimidating, and it can be tempting to just say no, what if it doesn’t work out? What if something bad happens?
Just say yes! Experiment! Go outside your comfort zone! Don’t worry about what other people think!
Think of it this way: start saying yes more, and look at the outcomes. Best case scenario, you’ve created a new memory, a human connection, or discovered a new hobby or passion! Worst case scenario, you learned something shouldn’t have been said yes too! Move on! Don’t lose your whimsey!
When I was offered the opportunity to go to Puerto Rico for the first time, I didn’t say yes at first. Puerto Rico? A very distant island in Central America’s hurricane belt? Y mi Español es como un niño con ocho años!!!!
But after thinking about it, I decided to just say yes. I almost had to convince myself to stop overthinking. And it was one of the best yes’s I’ve ever yes’d! The experience was amazing, it opened my mind to a whole new world that’s been waiting for me my whole life!
And HEY! Being spontaneous and saying yes to new experiences doesn’t need to be expensive or time consuming. Want to go check out a new place? A restaurant, a bar, even something like a park? GO! Don’t ask yourself questions, just do it! Is it close to your house? Walk to it for Pete’s sake! Get some steps in! Slow down! Scientists have confirmed (source: trust me bro) that walking to a place allows you to take in 400-500% more of your surroundings!
Say YES!

How I built a retro gaming room
Earlier this year, I was hit with the urge to build the ULTIMATE retro gaming room. So I converted a spare bedroom into EXACTLY that.
I went to Blue Home Depot and bought about $80 worth of wood and nails and sh**, and screwed it all together into a custom-built entertainment… shelving… thingy… to hold my big heavy CRT, my HiFi stack, and all my consoles and cartridges.
Lemme tell ya, having a dedicated space for all my retro gaming goodness has been a GAME changer! (Pun DEFINITELY intended!) Before, all these consoles were all over the place in various states of working-ness. Now, whenever I get the urge, I can just plop down on the (not-pictured) couch and play whatever I want!
With this setup, here’s all the stuff I can do!:
Atari 2600 games
Nintendo games
Super Nintendo games
Nintendo 64 games (spiritually, it’s broken right now)
Wii / Gamecube games
Namco arcade plug-&-play games
DVDs, CDs, audio tapes
VHS tapes
and MORE!
It’s like an enormous, far-less portable version of that other thing I did once!
My GREATEST song lyrics

REVIEW: Polycom VVX-450 VoIP desktop telephone
Wow, check it out. The Polycom VVX-450 VoIP desktop telephone.
If you were born after the year 1895, you’re probably familiar with the telephone. It’s a maaaagical machine that can let you talk to people far, far away!
If I had to pick a word to describe this phone, it' would be “BORING.” It rings, it calls, it… it’s a telephone.
Using this phone really makes me feel like I’m living the AMERICAN DREAM. Of SITTING in an OFFICE. On the PHONE.
God Bless America
Use your BRAIN when putting your LUNCH in the COMMUNAL office fridge. You d*ck.
This attractive white woman is my friend Christina! Just kidding, idk who tf this is, it’s a stock photo
I’ve been a God-blessed AMERICAN worker, in the AMERICAN workforce for years.
There’s a certain level of RESPECT that most be considered if you’re like me, a functioning member of society.
Here’s what really grinds my f***in’ gears: When you come into work in the morning… good morning! Wow, I’m also tired! Wow, you don’t get any sleep either? Wow!
When you go to the office communal refrigerator, don’t just
THROW YOUR FOOD IN THERE!!!! Don’t PURPOSEFULLY block other people’s food!
THE WORLD DOESN’T REVOLVE AROUND YOU.
That’s it. That’s all.
Actually no, I’m not done. TETRIS??? YOU EVER PLAY THAT?????? That’s what you need to do, like… with the fridge. Honestly? Don’t worry about touching other people’s food, because if it’s a necessary evil to make everything fit properly, then… do it!
That’s it. Bye.
